Situated in the great wine-making belt of northern Spain, between Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Priorato, our vineyards are in the Cariñena denomination of origin, within the autonomous community of Aragón. Our terroir, climate and grape varieties are similar to these other regions. In short, ideal conditions for making great wines.

Cariñena is the second-oldest demarcated region in Spain (after Rioja), formed in 1932. But its wine-making tradition dates back to the times of the Phoenicians and Romans. Cariñena gets its name from Carae, a settlement formed by the Romans in 50 B.C. And the Cariñena (Carignan) grape variety gets its name from the region .

Aragón itself is a beautiful and sparsely inhabited region, stretching from the highest peaks of the central Pyrenees in the north to olive groves, vineyards and castles in the south. The historic capital, Zaragoza, half way between Madrid and Barcelona and two hours’ drive from France, is 53 km from us.
