AGOSTÓN, Spain's Wild Boar, is quite a character:

- A black boar, not to be confused with the black bull

- Young and fruit-driven (easy-going, smooth, very relaxed)

- Gregarious, loved by everyone

- Outdoorsy, down-to-earth and full of local character

- Independent, intelligent, resourceful (watch out: occasionally runs wild!)

- Modern, minimalist, practical (loves screw-caps, burgundy bottles and cases with a tear-away side)

- Colourful, just like the flags of Spain and Aragón. Red and Yellow

- An example of the New Spain; an ideal sort for export

- Started its adventures in the summer of 2008

THE INSPIRATION

On warm summer evenings before the harvest, wild boars sneak into our vineyards from the adjoining forest-covered slopes of the Ibérico mountain-range.

Here, amongst our old vines growing on stony soils, they’re free to take the pick of the bunch.

Red: Garnacha & Syrah - especially popular for the reminiscence to forest fruit, notably raspberries and black cherries, with a smooth juicy richness and truly relaxed style.

Red: Tempranillo & Cabernet - a classic favourite for the intense bouquet of jammy blackberries, black plums and chocolate, peppered with spice and with an outwardly expressive style.

White: Viura & Chardonnay - the freshest option, with subtle notes of mountain minerals, wild flowers and crisp citrus fruit.

Rosé: Garnacha & Cabernet - particularly appreciated for its lively nature, delicious flavours and aromas of raspberries, strawberries, rose petals and hints of cherry.

"90 points, 5 stars and rated excellent" by Guia Peñin (Spain's reference wine magazine) in May 2008."Without doubt, this score is the result of an excellent and fresh 2007 harvest, typified by floral aromas and red fruit and for its excellent price"

AGOSTÓN Tempranillo & Cabernet: Gold Medal in Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, 2009. "91 points, 5 stars and rated excellent" by Guia Peñin

What better for the spring and summer?! AGOSTÓN White and Rosé are now available, following the success of the reds. The White is a Viura-Chardonnay blend, with grapes picked from schist-covered vineyards at 800 metres elevation, making this the freshest option, with subtle notes of mountain minerals, wild flowers and crisp citrus fruit. The Rosé (recent winner of silver at Vinalies, Paris) is a Garnacha-Cabernet blend, very lively, with a bouquet of raspberries, strawberries and ripe cherries.
